The Nintendo WaveBird Controller uses revolutionary RF technology that allows people to play Nintendo Gamecube from anywhere in the room, without wires and without having to be directly in front of an infrared receiver. The same size as the standard GameCube controller, the WaveBird has a slightly extended lower end to accommodate two AA batteries that provide more than 100(!) gameplay hours of wireless control.

With 16 different channels to choose from, four WaveBird controllers easily can hook up to a single machine, enabling a totally cordless multiplayer experience and you'll never have to worry about tangled cords again. The Wavebird wireless controller costs only $5 more than the standard controller and is only slightly heavier. As it uses reliable radio frequency technology instead of infrared, there is no need to point the Wavebird controller at the receiver. A big plus! The wavebird controller can be switched to 16 different frequencies, which is very handy for multiplayer setups. Since it doesn't have a rumble feature (which requires extra power to operate the rumble motor), it lasts more than 100 hours on two normal AA batteries. Not bad!
