Review of Halo for Xbox

Halo Xbox Review by Nick Manley

Halo for Xbox is a first person shooter adventure through an artificial alien world called Halo. You play a cyborg and must fight your way through hordes of enemy aliens know as Covenant to get to the deadly secret that lies beneath this games beautiful scenery and well thoughtout levels. And unlike most games, the closer you get to an object in Halo, the better the graphics get. A fine example of how great Xbox graphics can be! To battle the Covenant and another imperialistic species simply known as the Flood, you will be equipped with pistols, assault rifles, shotguns, sniper rifles, grenades, grenade launchers, and even armored vehicles.

A great aspect of Halo is that you can take the enemy's plasma weapons and even commandeer their vehicles to put the odds on your side a little more. The weapon handling in this game is superb and you can even see your ammo count on the assault rifle. There are two types of grenades to blow the enemy up with, and one of them sticks to the enemy, providing lots of laughs (and danger, if they run after you with a grenade sticking to them!) 2 Player Mode: If you don't feel the need to do the whole one-man army thing, you can take advantage of Halo's great 2 player co-op maingame action. This 2 player mode makes the game a lot more interesting when it comes down to large fire fights and even fighting the Covenant hunters. You can team up in a number of areas in this artificial world including snow fields, hallways, open rooms, bridges, swamps, and even air drop into a beachhead invasion.

Halo also has a great multiplayer option for up to 16 players. You can play capture the flag, team deathmatch, man with the flag, king of the hill, team king of the hill, melee deathmatch, sniper mode, and pretty much whatever type of mayhem you and your buds want to get in to. The sound track sets the mood for every type of situation and really keeps you on your toes. Despite all the alien blasting sound effects going on around you, it never seems to lose a beat. With all the action Halo has to offer, you could spend a week playing it on it hard modes or just 2 sleepless nights with a friend helping you defeat the hoards and protect the universe and your marine counterparts from the super weapon that is HALO.
