Sony Computer Entertainment has once again released a newer version of the Playstation 2 console. The new, so called "PSTwo" is visibly a slimmer design measuring only 2.8 cm, compared to the 7.8 cm of the original Playstation 2. The exterior redesign is virtually a side effect due to the complete overhaul of the internal architecture. The overall volume has been reduced by 75%, thus making the new PS Two model much lighter and more portable.

The basic functionality of the Playstation 2 still remains, and an integrated Ethernet Port makes the new PS Two ready for network gaming. Using an appropriate network connection (ADSL, cable, fibre, etc) you can test your skills by playing against other gamers from all over the world. The new slim-line PSTwo is fully compatible with the original PS2 - plays all PS2 games and is compatible with the same PS2 accessories and peripherals.

Only one inch wide and weighing in at about half the weight of the original, the new slimline PlayStation 2 packs a powerful punch. While keeping all of the functionality of its predecessor - including the ability to play all of the titles in the huge PlayStation and PlayStation 2 catalogue as well as music CDs and DVD movies - the new PS2 adds built-in Ethernet, so it's ready for PS2 online gaming out of the box. An analog modem port is also included for non-broadband gaming.
