Visitor feedback: Amazon PS2 sale on Dec-1-2000
Here you find messages that fellow PlayStation 2 hunters have sent to us who tried their luck at the Amazon sale on Dec 1st. Thank you all for the friendly messages!
It really looks as if the tips in the PSR newsletters have paid off for some people!
My congratulations to those that were lucky and got their PS2 already, and good luck to all those still searching
- I hope that my site continues to be useful to you!

You have a GREAT website! You were very helpful and informative. I just ordered my playstation 2 from Amazon with 1-click and seconds later, it seems, they were out of stock again. But not before I got mine! Thanks again. Dennis

I just want to say thank you from the bottom of my heart. This is absolutely the best site
on the entire world wide web! I went on Amazon exactly when you told me to and a scored a
playstation 2 bundle. This truly will be a happy holiday for everyone in my home. Thank you!
Keeep up the good work. DFried
Thank you, thank you! I got my playstation2! GUMom
Just about 1:20pm EST, Dec. 1st, I checked Amazon's web site and found the PS2 Family Pack available to order (it said usually ships in 1-2 weeks). I went through the process of ordering and the web page froze when it was trying to login into my Amazon customer account. I then tried to go back to the web page and look at the availability
and it said out of stock.I have since tried to access their web page, but right now I can't get in. It seems to be down or huge traffic is causing problems.
I was SO CLOSE. Thanks for letting me know where to look. This was the closest I ever came to ordering it.

Thanks! I was in on time and had all 3 packages available with a 1-2 week
delivery! And because all hell must have broken loose, someone else now has
my Family Pack! So much for getting in at the right time!! Bpranc
I was so excited when I found your website and saw that Amazon was going to have PS2s on sale.
My fiancee really wants one for Christmas. I waited for hours and repeatedly check the website.
With one lucky click I had a PS2 in my cart. ihad also put a memory card in my cart previously
so that I would be ready to check out immediately. I went to checkout and much to my dismay the
PS2 was no longer in my order. For all those people who think they have a PS2 don't get your hopes up
until you are through checkout. Your website is great but Amazon's ordering system sucks. AES
I knew the PS2 were coming up for sale on Amazon.com just the way the
web site acting. But for some reason I didn't even see the "available"
come up. Just wasn't quick enough on my re-loads, by the way it was
taking a long time to re-load, obviously that is when the sale was on.
Well at least now I know how the site acts just before they put them out
there for sale. Anyone have any luck with etoys.com??? Thanks for all
you help psreporter.com KB
I believe I was one of the lucky ones. Thanks a lot. I also went through
the website locking up upon entering my payment info. I was persistent
though, and kept refreshing until my payment info came up. It says I have
one ordered when I look at me account info. However it does say I have
ordered 1 item out of stock, and it has not shipped. I was wondering if any
of the other people who think they were successful have received the same
message after completing their order. Also if anyone has any info on how to
contact Amazon rather then E-mailing them that would also help out.
Thanks again. Aaron Email: aowens@hthworldwide.com
WooHoo!!! I finally got a PS2 on Amazon! Here's my list of tips:
1) When Amazon gives the next availability date, take the day off work.
2) Out of 5 shipments, 3 of them have been posted between 12:00 noon and 12:30 PM Central time.
3) Logon to Amazon and make sure you have the "1-click" ordering option turned on.
4) Don't sit on Amazon's PlayStation2 main page. Determine which of the 3 bundles you want, and go to the detailed description page for a particular bundle. This is the page that will have the "1-click" button when they go on sale. Typically, this page says: "Availability: We're sorry....blah blah".
5) Position your mouse pointer over the "We're sorry" text and use the keyboard equivalent for your browser to reload the web page. (F5 for Internet Explorer.) By positioning your mouse over the availability section of the page, you can focus on the pointer as the page is reloading. That way you can quickly press F5 (or whatever) as soon as you see the words "I'm Sorry". Don't wait for the whole page to reload. Using this method and a 56k modem, I was able to refresh the page every 8-10 seconds.
Thanks for your help! The information on your site was great! Jeff

You guys kick ass, I surly almost had given up hope of getting a PS2
before March, everybody was sold out, but I was determined to get one
I tiled 4 windows across my screen, and reloaded my screen for three hours
(every three minutes) at long last around 1:15 (EST) I was amazed to see
Amazon actaully selling them. My heart was pounding, I didn't even use "one-click"
shopping, I just went through fast as I could, holy s*** what a rush. This is the
best day of my life, I have my whole family believing they aren't getting
one for Christmas! Thanks a lot PsReporter, this was my first day trying at it so
I'm very proud of this achievement. Thanks again you guys, keep up the good work!
-Justin
YOU ARE MY HERO!!!
Thanks for all your help. Managed to grab PS2 @ Amazon today. Opened all 3 bundle windows at 5:00am and refreshed them every 30 sec!!!.
Used the one click shopping button that finally appeared at 10:15am (need to make sure you have already established an account to do this)
TIP: IF YOU WANT ONE YOU HAVE TO PUT IN THE TIME, TRY TAKING SHIFTS WITH SOMEONE - GOOD LUCK J. Lewis
Well, ladies and gentlemen, now you've done it to me. I'm really starting to blush now, no kidding. Thanks for all the amazing messages! Markus
